A Look Inside the Secret Supper
This was our first Secret Supper held indoors and it carried such a beautiful emotion. It was everything an Autumn dinner should be – cozy and warm, filled with laughter, toasts, cheers and of course incredible food, wine and company. New-found friends were discovered and we had many returning guests at our most recent Supper, White Fir ( more to come on that in a few weeks!).
The secret location for this Supper was truly something else – we held it at Alderbrook Station, a net loft and boathouse on the Columbia River that was built in 1903. The first floor was our gathering place for drinks where we served my Autumn Spiced Whiskey Apple Cocktail.
The second floor is currently used as artist’s studios and our guests wandered through in amazement. The third floor, the net shed, was where we dined together. The entire space only held running water and a small sink on the first floor, but thanks to our amazing crew, we set up a true pop up dinner and made the impossible possible!
One of my favorite features of the space was where we held the appetizers, out on the deck that overlooked the water. Far off in the distance there were massive barges rolling by, and as the sun set, they lit up the water in the most beautiful way.
Our menu was inspired by the very essence of fall – all things spiced, warm and inviting. It was so fun featuring Eva’s new cookbook too, which many guests took home after the Supper.
I hope you enjoy the collection of images from this Supper and hope that you feel like you were right there with us. Perhaps our menu will spark some ideas to gather friends around your table this Holiday season as well; we certainly hope it does!
