Just a couple of weeks ago I had a free afternoon during the week which is quite rare! I instantly knew that I wanted to spend my extra time in the kitchen shooting as it had been too long since I had a scheduled recipe shoot. I grabbed a few seasonal ingredients from the grocery and headed home for the weekend. I only originally planned a couple of recipes to shoot, but since the figs were so beautiful, I couldn’t help but shoot them! There’s just something so amazing about shooting beautiful fruit, and figs are definitely at the top of the list for the most beautiful fruit in my opinion! I’m sure many would agree as well. These figs paired with a couple of my favorite Felt + Fat ceramics, and you have winning combination. Also, the lovely marble board pictured is from Schoolhouse Electric, one of my favorite Portland shops. Both of these marvelous companies are sponsors for my Secret Supper events and are so wonderful to work with.
I’ve paired this fig and blueberry yogurt bowl with my pumpkin spice granola– the granola that I make more regularly than anything else (aka it’s addicting!). You’ll also see a jar of homemade almond milk which makes the perfect breakfast pairing. I recommend organic whole milk plain yogurt (my favorite is Straus !) for this bowl, served with fresh local figs and blueberries.
To all, a very happy first week of Autumn to you! I’ll soon be sharing a delicious recipe for how to use up the last of the tomato harvest….
