APPETIZER

1 – Wild Mushroom Fondue

  • Baguette
  • Olives

Cheese, French Wine, Mushrooms… need I say more? Perfect served with a baguette. A great addition to any table is butter and olives. If you can, set out some gluten free crackers for guest options. Let’s be honest – no one should go without fondue.

SIDES

2 –  Triple-Cooked Smashed Potatoes with Spicy Olive Oil

Even though there’s 3 steps to perfection, this recipe for triple-cooked smashed potatoes is incredibly simple. The result is every texture you could ever want in a potato: soft on the inside, with a crispy and slightly charred bottom. When mixed with the fried shallots, sage, and the lingering smoky heat from the oil at the very end of the bite…well, it’s practically life changing.

3- Pear & Gorgonzola Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette

This is what I like to call a simple “no recipe” recipe. Start with 3 handfuls torn kale. Massage in bowl with oil and vinegar. Toss in 2 handfuls torn radicchio. Top with sliced pears, toasted nuts (optional) and crumbled gorgonzola cheese.

4- Flame Crafted Ham

Pick up a ham at your local market. I love this smoked ham. Simply reheat in the oven before your guests arrive. Garnish how you like! I used pomegranates, cara cara oranges (broiled lightly after slicing in half), and bay leaves.

See here for entry details. Live through 11:59pm PT on 22DEC.

5 – Donabe Steamed Mussels, Chinese Sausage, and Green Curry

Adding seafood to your buffet spread is a great way to keep the options exciting and fresh for your guests. Mussels are always beautiful in a big pot. This recipe is a favorite!

Enjoy, Friends! I’d love to hear what you are planning. Send me a note on social!
